Dikshit Mundra is a self taught Travel Photographer and a former TEDx Speaker. Founder of Streets of India, an Instagram Community of over 540k members, he believes that travelling is as important to him as breathing. Becoming a travel photographer was never planned. “Photography was my father’s passion. He used to take us out every Sunday and click many pictures of me and my siblings, and later he would spend the whole afternoon developing the photographs. I was always curious to know what he gets out of it”, he says. However, it was a TED talk by a famous Dutch photographer, Frans Lanting that changed Dikshit’s perspective towards photography, won his first professional camera in a photography competition held by his college, since then his work has got featured in many revered publications such as National Geographic Traveller magazine, Lonely Planet, 500px and amongst others. His work is full of magnificent landscapes, cityscapes and conceptual portraits. The self-trained photographer confesses that he doesn’t have an inclination towards any particular genre. “When you define yourself by a particular genre, you have to stick to it and explore more and more only in that field. But I don’t want to limit myself. I want to be able to click a good portrait and at the same time not miss nature’s wonders or the beauty of an old monument”, Dikshit quotes.
